ASWGA Fleece Competition Results 2023-2024

Congratulations to Brett, Susan, Cameron & Elle Picker from the Goulburn Yass Region for their win in three categories of the ASWGA Fleece competition, the class 90’s quality along with first place in the Goulburn Yass region and the big one, the “Australian Council of Wool Exporters & Processors Grand Champion” Trophy for the best overall fleece

We would also like to congratulate all winners of respective regions and quality classes.

There were 64 fleeces entered in this year’s competition and the results were very close.

Mr Mark Waters our ASWGA President is presenting all winners with their trophies and Certificates at regional meetings during July.

A huge thank you to our sponsors Australian Council of Wool Exporters & Processors Inc. and NATSUN as well as regional sponsors.

The actual judging was made easier with the organizing and delivery and storage of fleeces and judging space made by Mark Hedley and staff of AWN Goulburn. Not only for ASWGA but also the Zegna Judging, it was a huge effort and greatly appreciated by the Association.

Finally, thank you to judges Mr Ray Moroney of Goulburn (Formally AWN) and wool exporter Mr Peter Brice of Australian Merino. A special thankyou to all members of the G/Y Region for all the work over the years with sorting and helping with Judging of Competitions.

Funds raised from the sale of the wool entered in the competition will go back to the Association.
